🚪 Door Knocking – Why It’s Not Harmless 🚪 |
||
|
We are receiving increasing reports of:
While this may appear innocent to young people, the reality is:
This behaviour is not acceptable and will be investigated.
⚖️ Criminal Responsibility – What Parents Need to Know
Children are criminally responsible from the age of 10
This means that if a child is identified as being involved in: They will be treated as responsible for their actions and dealt with appropriately by police.
This can include: Possible court involvement
Parents and carers will be informed, but responsibility lies with the child’s actions.
👨‍👩‍👧 What We Ask of Parents & Carers ✔ Know where your child is and when they are expected home ✔ Know who they are spending time with ✔ Talk to them about what is and is not acceptable behaviour ✔ Explain the impact their actions can have on others ✔ Encourage respect for people, property and the community
These conversations make a real difference.
🤝 Working Together Our aim is not to criminalise young people unnecessarily. Our priority is to prevent harm, protect communities and guide young people onto the right path.
By working together, we can keep Staffordshire’s neighbourhoods safe and help young people make better choices.
Thank you for your continued support.
